Together we have been dancing and practicing Argentine Tango for many years. We are two passionate and dedicated dancers of the very special dance of Argentine Tango in Hong Kong.

Argentine Tango is still a rarely known dance in Hong Kong but is already very popular in almost all major capital cities of the world, especially Europe. There are currently fewer than 100 regular dancers in Hong Kong. Even fewer are the local teachers - around 5 couples in the whole of Hong Kong, and we are proud to be one of them.

We learned the theory and technique of tango from famous classical tango maetros, and recently spending more time investigating and practicing nuevo tango method with the new generation teachers especially Matias Facio and Kara Wenham from Argentina, gaining a more thorough understanding of body movement and dancing dynamics.

We are one of the most active dancers in Hong Kong, and have also travelled together to festivals including that of Sydney and Taipei.

***Sept, 2005, we performed in the 3rd Taipei International Tango Festival as representative of Hong Kong.

***March, 2006, we taught a Tango Preface workshops for Tangotang.

***Feb, 2007, we also performed on stage in a group choreography for PriceWaterHouseCoopers's annual dinner at Hong Kong Convention Centre, a big event with 2000 guests.

***Aug and Sept, 2007, we taught another series of Tango Preface (beginners workshops for Tangotang.

***September, 2007, we performed again in the 5th Taipei International Tango Festival as representative of Hong Kong.

***23 September, 2007, we performed at Tangotang's Mid-Autumn Festival Dinner/Milonga at Butterfield, Taikoo Place.

Currenlty we are one of the regular couples helping Tangotang, Hong Kong's biggest tango club, to hold workshops and guided practice sessions.

Now we give intensive private class to dancers from beginners to advance level. We also perform for special event and wedding.

Not everything cost money....it is also our pleasure to share the passion and endless stories about Argentine Tango with you. The best dancers don't just go to the classes, they also learn about the culture and music. And you must try the famous "yerba mate" tea too!!! I love it. Argentine Tango is one of the most misunderstood dance of all partly because of its mysterious origin, but more so because of the big confusion people have with Ballroom Tango which is more commonly performed and featured on TV shows and dancing competition. You can read about the relationship (and hence difference) between Argentine Tango and Ballroom Tango.

This is a dance that goes back at least 120 years to the 19th century small town of Buenos Aires, now the capital city of Argentina, where new immigrants from Africa and Europe lived together and created a melting pot of culture. A dance was born as part of the social activity by which the Boys got the chance to meet the Girls.......and this is Argentine Tango. So, Argentine Tango, unlike Ballroom dances, has never been the subject of dancing competition. They are totally different.

It is not our objective here to tell you in words the comprehensive history of Argentine Tango. On the right hand side of this page, you will find some excellent links to other websites where you can explore that further.

However, there is no better way to understand Argentine Tango than by hearing the music and watching the dance yourself. Many tango addicts around the world have put a lot of excellent Argentine Tango video clips on Youtube. Please seach by using such keywords as "argentine tango", "nuevo tango" or "argentinean tango" etc. We have put here a video of our teachers performing in Taipei International Tango Festival 2004. We love them!

If you want to know more about Argentine Tango, come to one of our tango parties in Wanchai, Hong Kong, or send us an email. SMS welcome too!!
